In 2008, John and Lori Sherk visited Paso Robles for the first time and fell in love with the area. Even though they lived in Kansas City, Lori had a dream of making her own olive oil. After purchasing some land just outside of Paso Robles and taking classes at U.C. Davis in the proper growth and harvesting of olives, Lori planted her own olive orchard. It is from her trees, along with the trees of a neighbor and good friend, that Odelay Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made. While Lori still resides in Kansas City, she makes frequent trips to Paso Robles to tend her trees and ensure that they are producing the tastiest olives possible.
